Draft priced scope

BOQ Pro — build a draft Bill of Quantities

Measure, price and total your own line items by trade. Enter real quantities and rates, add contingency and VAT, then export, print or send it for professional review. Everything you type stays in your browser.

What this page is — and is not

  • A working draft you control: add/remove items, set quantities, units and rates, and see live totals.
  • Transparent maths: every figure shows its basis, so you can see exactly where a number comes from.
  • Not automatically certified, checked or tender-ready. It becomes usable pricing only after a quantity surveyor reviews it.
  • It does not measure from your plot size. Building floor area and plot area are separate here; measured takeoff belongs on a drawing.

1. Project details

Used only as a description of the works. It is not used to measure or price your line items.

A plot of 50 × 100 ft is about 464.5 m². Plot area never generates a BOQ here.

2. Measured items

Editable draft Bill of Quantities line items
Description Trade Unit Quantity Rate (UGX) Amount (UGX) Remove

Amount = Quantity × Rate. Leave quantity or rate blank, or enter a rate of 0, and the row counts as pending — it stays visible so nothing is silently dropped. Only fully valid, priced rows add to the totals.

3. Contingency & VAT

Applied to the measured subtotal. Defaults to 0.

Applied to the measured subtotal plus contingency. Defaults to 0.

4. Subtotals by trade

Each trade subtotal is the sum of its priced items only. Trades with unpriced items still appear, so missing scope is always visible.

5. Save, compare & share

Export & print

CSV opens in Excel with UTF-8 and formula-injection protection, and importing a CSV is size-capped, row-capped and escaped. Print gives a readable PDF report with totals and assumptions.

Columns: Trade, Description, Unit, Quantity, Rate (UGX). Maximum 400 rows / 400 KB. Importing replaces the current line items.

Save & open a project file

Download your BOQ as a JSON project file, or open one you saved earlier. Opening validates the file before anything loads.

Files are created on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Save on this device & compare

Store a working copy in this browser, then save a baseline and see what a revision added, removed or changed.

Request a professional review of this draft

Send your current summary — project, location and total — into a real enquiry. A quantity surveyor then reviews the quantities, rates and missing scope before anything is treated as usable pricing.

We never claim a draft like this has been automatically reviewed. Review is done by a person and fees for professional work are quoted before any commitment.

Your BOQ and saved copies live only in this browser on this device. We do not store your BOQ on a server, and no account is required.
